Your Gift-Wrap
This Holiday Season
Sometimes living luxuriously is all about making the simple things elegant. We all love the tradition of gift giving, and beyond the gifts themselves, part of what makes it so fabulous is the ritual and the art of presentation.
Gifts are after all, for the people we love and care about, and our relationships are just as worthy as anything of our thoughtfulness and creativity.
So as with anything, I love to really go glam with my gift-wrapping and make it a full experience for everyone involved. To inspire your next wrap-session this season, I’ve put together my favorite papers, ribbons, cards and tags from to help you gift in style.
PAPER
It all starts with the paper. I love to have a mix on hand, from subtle and restrained to whimsical and festive. Pick something solid and textural, a small graphic pattern, and perhaps a more elaborate print in coordinating themes and colors for a cohesive look under your tree.
RIBBON
Ribbon is the icing on the cake. It’s what takes this gift wrap into the major leagues. Depending on how ornate your wrapping paper is, you can choose to make a statement with a flashy, explosive bow, or keep things clean with a chic tie of string.
CARDS
Deliver your words in something beautiful! I’m loving these modern and stylish designs with cheerful, simple messaging that awaits your personal touch.
TAGS
Chances are you wouldn’t get all dressed up and then throw on your farmer’s market tote. Similarly no self-respecting gift wrap wants a post-it or one of your office labels on it. Like a swipe of lipstick a gorgeous tag can complete the look.
Whether it’s an invitation, a thank you note, or a holiday greeting, PaperlessPost.com has become one of my favorite ways to send a special message both online and in the mail. The company has branched out from the chicest designer e-vites to custom printed products you can design, order, and send online. Founded in 2009 by a young sister and brother duo, the company has even scored some fab collaborations with names like Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, and Jonathan Adler, so you know the design standard is high.
