Dressing Up For Day—The Vegas Way

I feel like Las Vegas was made for a woman like Gina—the woman who haphazardly throws on a one-shoulder Roberto Cavalli top at 10am on a Saturday morning to answer emails—true story.

There’s nothing too over the top when it comes to Vegas style and that rule isn’t just reserved for a night on the town. In fact, Las Vegas is the kind of place where you can dress up to the nines to lounge by the pool and get noticed for all the right reasons.

In case you hadn’t noticed, daytime glamour is totally a thing here in Vegas, so putting on a fabulous designer maxi, a metallic wedge and your glitziest jewels to grab lunch is next to normal—and just another reason to fall in love with Sin City. It’s kind of like dressing up in Capri or San Tropez without the 16 hour flight.
gina-pool-deckThis Outfit Of The Week is all about revving up your daytime style game, and you’ll get no objections from Ms. DeVee when it comes to donning a full length colorful printed gown to hang out poolside at The Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.

This structured maxi from Roberto Cavalli was super flattering with its faux wrap neckline, asymmetrical seams and ruched bodice, but the real wow-factor comes from the bold floral print in hot coral and turquoise—which was so gorgeous on Gina’s summer tan. I also loved the border print at the hem, which added something extra special and really anchored the look.

While fitting this dress, our sales associate at Cavalli grabbed a matching silk scarf and suggested it would make a great wrap. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good cover up, but a wrap felt so…evening. So we collaborated with their in-house seamstress to create the most amazing shrug/jacket out of the scarf with a drapey kimono sleeve Gina loves so much and a soft inverted pleat at the back.

The shrug really added the drama we were looking for and took things to the next level.

The rest of the outfit was an easy bet. We added a gold Jimmy Choo wedge, a sparkly hoop from Alexis Bittar and a graphic gold cuff from Tiffany and Co. all of which played nicely with the bright ocean hues in Gina’s dress.
This daytime look was all about making a bold but tasteful statement and keeping Gina cool and comfortable in the hot Vegas sun. I’d say we hit the jackpot, no?
