When my photographer and I were location scouting for this issue, we stopped at Chiswick and WOW—I fell in love. This gorgeous restaurant feels like a glass cottage in a posh country garden. It is Divine Living Down Under!

Owners Peter Sullivan and Chef Matt Moran call their creation a “neighborhood restaurant,” and though you could just as easily call it a destination, it certainly has a friendly ease about it. The whole concept embraces both simplicity and sophistication with a touch of whimsy, making it feel quintessentially Australian from the decor to the food.

Serving seasonal share plates with ingredients plucked from the kitchen garden, it’s the perfect place for a celebratory weekday lunch that commands a glass of white wine, or even a laid-back date night. Light, yet flavorful plates showcasing the best local produce are plentiful, while the wood-fired oven is regularly turning out sumptuous meat dishes, from roasted trout to lamb, chicken and duck.
