Even though the summer months are reserved for traveling, relaxation and casual gatherings, inevitably there always seems to be some kind of event on the calendar that requires you to put your best Choo forward and dress up to the nines.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Even though Gina would almost always rather be lounging in a colorful Camilla caftan somewhere in St. Tropez, I enjoy pulling her out of that fantasy and throwing her into a structured cocktail dress from time to time—yes, I have this power and like to wield it.

A favorite of stylish celebrities like Michelle Obama, Rihanna, Reese Witherspoon and Gina DeVee, Cushnie et Ochs has become our go-to brand for structured comfortable dresses that celebrate a woman’s silhouette in a modern and sexy way. This week’s look started with an off the shoulder LWD (Little White Dress) that showed off Gina’s décolleté and added tons of summery glamour to her Sydney soirée. I chose this dress because of its excellent construction and body balancing details. The 
hidden empire waist lengthened Gina’s torso and the princess seams slimmed everything out while emphasizing curves. For decades we’ve been touting the versatility of the LBD, which bores me to death, so come summertime it’s nice to shake things up a bit and opt for the true blank canvas of white.
Our LWD created lots of length at the neck and openness across the shoulder, so naturally, it was screaming for a statement piece. Gina found this gold and floral Oscar de la Renta bib choker during an online shop, and hadn’t found a place to wear it yet. We loved the contrast of the modern style of the dress with the classic beauty of the choker. Also, the gold played nicely with the crisp white, adding touch of glam, while the blue and pink flowers offered a subtle pop of color.
Once we fell in love with the look of the necklace the gold started flying! Mirror gold Jimmy Choo sandals, a rose gold ring and a gold and leather envelope clutch completed Gina’s ensemble. As cliché as it sounds, a solid dress really does lend itself to a myriad of accessories so you can change it up and get creative for all your special occasions this summer.
