Meanwhile, locals and celebrities who are in the know can be found mingling below, at the more casual but no less delicious Plow & Angel. This cozy tavern is beloved for its grown-up California comfort food, specialty cocktails and fun atmosphere. It’s the best place in town to indulge in classic American favorites like an iceberg wedge salad, macaroni and cheese or killer baby back ribs, all elevated with upscale ingredients and organic produce from the property’s gardens.
When Glenn and I lived in Montecito, Plow & Angel was our Wednesday night tradition, and we still love to stop by for a delicious and romantic night of casual dining. We like to share a bunch of small plates like the Kobe beef meatballs or slow-roasted tomato bruschetta, and then we normally split one or two of Chef John Trotta’s signature entrees, such as the grilled rib-eye, hand-cut pappardelle with Maine lobster, or pan- seared King salmon.
So if you find yourselves heading up the coast, be sure and book a room at the Ranch and enjoy the cozy comforts of this local favorite.
