Inside My Two Week Escape at the Como Shambhala Estate

Find Out Why this Boutique Resort in Central Bali is the Ideal Place for the Woman Entrepreneur Seeking the Next Level in Life

red-divi

had been in Bali for a couple of weeks already when I made the unexpected decision to spend 13 luxurious days alone glamping in the jungle.

After my session with Umaa, the angelic healer from the Yoga Barn, I was craving to learn more about the Ayurvedic wisdom that had spoken to me so clearly. I realized that it might be time to understand myself and my health better than I had ever thought possible.

My intuition said to stay longer in Bali and discover this next level. I knew I wanted a luxury Ayurvedic program, because I wasn’t exactly looking for a tent or a straw hut. I know myself well enough to know I wouldn’t be able to tap into anything while trying to brave it in the jungle. Works for some, but I need to feel supported and comfortable.
So I was looking for the best of both worlds: the spiritual solitude and serenity of being in nature, and the high-frequency surroundings and expert professionals that allow me to feel taken care of. But I didn’t know where exactly I would go.

Magically, a former client of mine from the UK was in Ubud on her way to Hong-Kong, and we met for lunch. I told her about my session with Umaa and that I was thinking about staying longer in Bali, but wasn’t sure where. So she introduced me to this new website called I Escape that featured luxury boutique hotels.

We logged on, and found one place that looked really beautiful, but I couldn’t tell if they had an Ayurvedic program or not. So I googled “luxury Ayurvedic program Bali,” and I immediately found the same one: the Como Shambhala Estate. It was crystal clear that was where I needed to go.

The first night I checked in, I could immediately tell the Estate was a mystical vortex.

This was a true pattern interrupt if I’ve ever experienced one. I immersed myself in this serene paradise, with a personal assistant to attend to my every need, delicious clean meals prepared to Ayurvedic specifications just for me, and all the young coconut water, juice, and fabulous ginger-honey tea I could possibly enjoy.

At first, it took a few days to just really unwind. I consulted both an Ayurvedic Doctor and an Oriental Medicine Specialist, who helped me to design my optimal health itinerary. Throughout my time there I received two rejuvenating spa treatments daily: luxe massages with rich essential oils, therapeutic yoga lessons, and Acupuncture sessions. It was so special to be taken care of and nurtured at such a high level.

My schedule was incredibly simple: I had to get myself to a spa treatment or two, and to breakfast, lunch and dinner (or order room service). Other than that I mostly allowed myself to just be. I would sleep late if I wanted too, then sit on my villa’s private deck and just enjoy the jungle, journaling, reading, or meditating.

For me, it was the right place at the right time. It’s not that there was anything wrong in my life. My business was going well: The Divine Living Magazine was getting ready to launch, and the Academy Coaching Certification & Business Program was in full swing. However I could tell that I desired to pause and regroup, rather than waiting for something to plummet.

To say that my time at Como Shambhala was empowering would be an understatement. It really connected me to my spirituality in a new way. Like anything in life, we’ve got to keep it fresh. Since I’ve had a relationship with God since I was born, attended countless church services and lectures, listened to and read so many spiritual teachings, it’s important for me not to take that for granted, but to really reach for new heights in my spiritual journey.

I found that I became even more in tune with my body, my femininity and my womanhood. And that led me to new business ideas and programs that I’m so excited to release when the time is right. That’s why I think it’s so important for us as women entrepreneurs to constantly seek spiritual inspiration, so that we aren’t just creating JOBS for ourselves, but truly meaningful, purposeful careers.

Whether you’re traveling or at home, there is spiritual inspiration everywhere. If you want to open yourself up in a big way, I encourage you to try practicing something new every day for two full weeks. Embrace daily meditation, schedule long stretches of unstructured me-time, take luxurious baths, follow a clean diet and integrate spiritual readings into your nightly routine.
