Balancing Life, Love & Business while
Traveling the World
Not everyone understands the laptop lifestyle. At first, your friends at home might ask, “How was your vacation?” And it may be a while before they realize that in fact, your work goes with you from one fabulous destination to the next.
When you’re with the women of our community however, there’s no need to explain “yet another” jaunt across the pond. Traveling for work and play is our #newnormal, and we’re here to support each other in living out our grandest desires— a kind of support I’ve found is desperately needed.
I remember when I dared to book my first ticket to the Amalfi Coast a decade ago. I was blown away to find that I was by no means alone in desiring the life of a jetsetter. I had been trying to hide the trip from my clients out of guilt, fear and shame, because my life was supposed to be all about personal development and serving others.
Little did I know that by openly allowing for what truly lit me up, I would ultimately be able to serve even more clients, have a much greater impact, and live my life with more creativity and energy than ever before.
Being the global girl boss is not without its challenges though—especially when you’re toting around old-fashioned ideas about how life and business are supposed to be. That’s why we’ve dedicated so much of Divine Living Magazine to not just where to go and what to do, but showing you how we do it—all while running your biz, staying healthy and taking care of you and your relationships.
Over the past two years, It’s been an honor and a joy to take you behind the scenes of my life on the road. You’ve joined me for a dreamy wellness retreat at California’s legendary Golden Door resort, witnessed my first time fly-fishing with Glenn in Jackson Hole (which I surprisingly loved!), came along for a girl’s weekend at Le Sirenuse in Positano and most recently, gone on safari in the Serengeti.
Meanwhile, I’ve gotten into the details that everyone always wonders about, divulging exactly what luxury travel looks like for me. Some of our greatest hits have been on knowing when to unplug, how I pack for a beach getaway, and my jetsetter’s guide to self-care, in which I break down everything I do on a trip from from LA to Paris.
I for one, am most delighted to look back on all the destinations we’ve curated over the years in round-ups like 15 Irish Escapes, the World’s Most Luxe Wellness Retreats, and 5 Chic Tuscan Getaways. There are so many gorgeous resorts in breathtaking locations featured here, and I’m looking forward to adding one or two to my 2017 itinerary. How about you?
